Job Title: Data Analyst (Oracle HCM) Location: Toronto, ON Duration: 12 months (possibility of extension) Rate: CAD65-CAD70/hr
Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Analyst with experience in Oracle HCM and enterprise data environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for understanding and documenting complex data structures, analyzing data quality, and supporting data governance initiatives. This role will focus on reviewing the Entity Relationship Model of the organization's applications, assessing the quality and integrity of existing data, and providing recommendations to support data retention and purging decisions in compliance with regulatory and privacy requirements, including Bill 64.
Key Responsibilities Analyze and document data structures, relationships, and dependencies within Oracle HCM and related enterprise applications. Understand and interpret Entity Relationship (ER) models and data architecture of existing systems. Perform data profiling, validation, and quality assessments to identify inconsistencies, duplicates, and data integrity issues. Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to understand data usage, business rules, and compliance requirements. Develop data quality metrics, reports, and documentation to support decision-making. Assess historical and transactional data to determine retention, archival, and purge requirements. Support data governance, privacy, and regulatory compliance initiatives, including Bill 64 requirements. Document data lineage, mappings, business definitions, and data flows across systems. Work closely with application, database, and business teams to recommend data remediation and cleansing strategies. Prepare findings and recommendations to support technical decisions related to data retention and purging activities.
Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Administration, or a related field. Experience as a Data Analyst, Data Quality Analyst, or similar role. Hands-on experience with Oracle HCM data structures and reporting. Strong understanding of relational databases, Entity Relationship Models, and data modeling concepts. Experience with SQL and data analysis tools. Knowledge of data quality assessment, data governance, and master data management principles. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills. Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical findings into business-friendly recommendations.
Preferred Qualifications Experience working on data migration, archival, retention, or purging initiatives. Knowledge of privacy and regulatory compliance requirements, including Bill 64, GDPR, or similar frameworks. Experience with Oracle reporting tools, BI solutions, or data visualization platforms. Familiarity with HR systems and employee data management processes. Experience working in Agile project environments.
