About this opportunity
As Manager, Financial Reporting you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely presentation of monthly financial statements, reviewing quarterly balance sheet analysis, and developing reports on key performance indicators. You will collaborate with operational leads to provide meaningful financial reports, facilitate budget and forecast processes, and ensure compliance with both internal and external stakeholder requirements. Overseeing a team of five, you will drive ongoing process improvements and foster effective communication with various departments to support financial integrity and operational efficiency.
Take an inside look at what you’ll do each day
- Ensure that monthly operational financial statements, including high-level reviews of revenue, labour, and overhead, are accurately presented in a timely manner
- Review and assist in quarterly balance sheet analysis for all accounts on the consolidated balance sheet along with supporting documentation and explanations of variances as required
- Develop and review reports focused on measuring operational key performance indicators
- Monitor and report on the collections cycle of the operations
- Develop annual operational budgets/forecasts
- Prepare annual year end working papers
- Ensure all external and internal stakeholder requirements are being met
- Improve existing processes and systems
- Additional ad hoc reporting as required
What you need to be successful
- At least five years of experience in a senior finance or analyst role
- A Bachelor of Commerce, Finance, or Business Administration degree.
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation, including CA, CMA, or CGA designations
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Employee development, coaching and conflict management skills
- Ability to drive teamwork and staff engagement
- A results-oriented approach with analytical problem-solving skills
- Critical/analytical thinking with an attention to detail
- Process improvement and quality assurance
- Excellent verbal/written communication, listening and observational skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with an ability to multi-task
- Strong computer literacy with various applications and programs
