Description JOB SUMMARY:Within the context of a client and family-centred framework and continuum based care model and in accordance with the established standards of professional practice and the vision and values of the organization, provides clinical education services including individual and group learning assessments and opportunities. Develops, implements and evaluates clinical education programs and resources using specialized theory and knowledge of general and specialized clinical practice, teaching and learning principles and processes. Consults, confers and collaborates with educators, the clinical program and other team members in the promotion of continuous quality improvement, resolution of clinical education issues and coordination of activities required for progressive educational and clinical practice programs. QUALIFICATIONS:Education & Experience Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). Completion of recognized post-basic education in gastroenterology/GI endoscopy nursing, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Three (3) years’ recent, related nursing experience in the designated clinical area(s) including one (1) year related teaching experience and/or group facilitation, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesKnowledge of Gastrointestinal (GI) anatomy and physiology.Knowledge of pharmacology and client physiological reactions, related to conscious sedation.Knowledge of nursing problems commonly encountered in an endoscopy environment.General knowledge of Trauma Informed Practice, Harm Reduction approach and Strengths-based care.Demonstrated ability to promote Indigenous Cultural Safety.
