Summary The Facilities Specialist is responsible for making sure that our buildings and their services meet the needs of the people that work in them. This role is accountable for services such as safety, security, preventative and reactionary maintenance to ensure the surrounding environment is in a suitable condition to work. They are responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of buildings so that they meet health and safety standards, including Wyld Food Safety standards. Must be able to work a flexible schedule.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with equipment and facility repairs and monitor equipment performance
  • Maintain adequate equipment inventory
  • Maintain facility grounds
  • Navigate and utilize CMMS platform for tracking, logging, and completion of all tasks
  • Schedule Vehicle Maintenance including but not limited to; Track and document all vehicle maintenance (oil changes, coolant, tire pressure, battery life, lights etc.), changes and additions.
  • Consistently and regularly test and check all systems, fluids, hardware and software
  • Report safety and quality concerns regarding warehouse facility, equipment, and inventory to supervisor and/or manager
  • Assist in performing repairs, upgrades, and maintenance for buildings and equipment including, but not limited to: carpentry, electrical, mechanical, painting, plastering, drywalling, plumbing, and HVAC repair work
  • Meet with team daily, weekly and monthly to assess departmental and personal quota goals
  • Perform team and individual tasks as assigned while maintaining an efficient pace and high quality of work
  • Maintains physical space, ensuring a safe, clean, and functional environment
  • Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned based on business needs

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • At least 1 year of related experience in Facilities, Fleet Maintenance and/or Consumer Product Goods. An equivalent combination of education and experience in multiple industries will be considered
  • Some experience in building maintenance preferred including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.
  • Must have some working knowledge of fleet maintenance including small engines, heavy equipment, and light trucks
  • Experience with packaging machinery, including but not limited to flow-wrappers, heat sealers, etc. is a benefit; experience with equipment preventative maintenance will be vital for a candidate to be successful.
  • Must have previous experience as a problem solver that thrives under pressure in a fast-paced environment who possesses a high attention to detail, prioritization, time management and organizational skills with a positive, goal-oriented attitude
  • Must be highly motivated and target driven
  • Must have experience working with a high sense of urgency, preferably in a fast-paced work environment
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft suite (core applications), Google, Slack, experience in Jira and/or other management platforms and software preferred
  • Language Skills: Must be able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and written
  • Math Skills: Possess basic mathematical skills; addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • Travel Requirements: Occasional travel required between buildings and sites
  • Ability to maintain and manage confidential information
  • Provincial regulations require all applicants must be 19 years of age or older
  • ServSafe, Food Handler’s or FOODSAFE Level 1 card preferred
  • Will be required to submit to a background check
  • Must obtain all applicable government-required permits, licenses, and certifications

Benefits ***You'll receive a hourly rate of $24.75 – $29.75/hr. (CAD), 12 paid holidays, 120 hours vacation time, RRSP matching, and supplemental health, dental and vision insurance.
