WestJet’s Calgary facility is currently looking for a Structures Technician who will work safely and efficiently to maintain WestJet’s fleet of aircraft.

Responsibilities:

  • Exercise privileges of Aircraft Certification Authority in respect to WestJet's aircraft.

  • Support the line maintenance teams during Checks, IROPS, and AOG situations.

  • Work collaboratively with experienced teams that will be responsible to maintain/repair the aircraft in a safe and timely manner anywhere in the WestJet network.

  • Complete accurate completion of required paperwork with respect to the aircraft in accordance with Airworthiness Certification Authority.

  • Provide instruction and leadership for any mechanic or apprentice working within your maintenance activity.

  • Ensure the Company's best interest (as defined in the company code of conduct) is maintained

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Provide receipt of original copy of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering License with both S & M2 ratings or S rating only.

  • Minimum 5 years structures experience on large transport aircraft or equivalent required.

  • Broad range of experience including, completion of minor and major repairs and/or modifications is required.

  • Ability to work shift work and overtime.

  • Must be willing to travel at a moment’s notice anywhere in the WestJet network.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, as well as, climb, kneel, and crawl frequently in tight spaces.

  • Strong computer skills using various Maintenance programs and Microsoft Office Applications.

  • Excellent ability to multitask & handle changing priorities under extreme pressure.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Must be able to obtain DA license.

  • Must be able to obtain a Radio License within 6 months of employment with WestJet as per our company policy.

  • An ability to meet all conditions of employment:

    • Restricted Area Pass issued by Transport Canada
    • Ability to obtain an AVOP
    • Post offer employment test to test physical ability and fit for position
    • A criminal background check
    • As per our Alcohol and Drug Policy all offers of employment are conditional on passing a pre-employment alcohol and drug screening test
