Job Description
Reporting to the Controller, the Accountant participates in month-end processes, primarily revenue recognition. They will contribute to internal and external reporting to various stakeholders. They will also assist in the preparation and improvement of monthly analyses.
In addition, the Accountant is called upon to participate in various ad hoc projects and to support the annual external audit process. They are also responsible for the continuous improvement of accounting processes.
More specifically, your responsibilities include the following:
Accounting Activities (75%)
Participate in the month-end closing process, including:
- Preparing month-end journal entries;
- Preparing working papers for balance sheet accounts and analyzing them;
- Analyzing various income statement accounts;
- Participating in the month-end closing process for the U.S. subsidiary;
- Ensuring the integrity of financial data, particularly by verifying the functionality and efficiency of tools used to integrate financial information from various systems into the accounting system;
- Responding to various analysis requests from different stakeholders;
- Producing financial reports for various stakeholders;
- Participating in the year-end audit file;
- Performing regulatory and tax compliance obligations (sales taxes, corporate income taxes, and other financial obligations).
Process and Internal Control Improvement (25%)

Participating in the implementation of new information systems;

Contributing to various corporate improvement projects and ad hoc analyses.
Qualifications
-
DEC in Accounting and Management Techniques or a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Accounting Sciences, or Business Administration;
-
8 years of experience in accounting;
-
Must very comfotable with closing month-end process;
-
Experience in an international company (an asset);
-
Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel – intermediate to advanced level);

Knowledge of Microsoft Business Central (an asset);
-
Demonstrates leadership, collaboration, and innovation;

Detail-oriented with strong teamwork skills;
-
Problem-solving and results-oriented;
-
Good ability to manage priorities.

This position must bebilingualas the candidate will be responsible for working with documentation in bothFrench and Englishand communicating, orally and in writing, with both French-speaking and English-speaking partners/clients/suppliers/colleagues.
