Major Responsibilities

UI/UX Design

  • Design beautiful, intuitive, and accessible user interfaces for web and mobile applications, adhering to iOS, Android, and responsive web design guidelines.
  • Create wireframes, user flows, interaction prototypes, customer journey maps, and high-fidelity designs to articulate design concepts and solutions.
  • Develop pixel-perfect design documentation, including annotations, for seamless handoff to developers.
  • Incorporate motion design and micro-interactions to enhance user engagement and delight.
  • Translate complex system requirements into simple, user-friendly designs that institutionalize customer-centric practices.
  • Rapidly prototype concepts using tools like Figma, ranging from low-fidelity sketches to interactive digital prototypes.
  • Ensure designs align with Alterna’s brand identity and accessibility standards.

Research and Validation

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to conduct qualitative and quantitative research, including user interviews, usability testing, and observational studies.
  • Apply design thinking to uncover insights, validate design concepts, and iterate based on member feedback and data-driven findings.
  • Leverage journey maps, service blueprints, and user personas to drive member-centric solutions.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Work closely with stakeholders to align on product vision and ensure design specifications are implemented accurately.
  • Facilitate design workshops, brainstorming sessions, and process improvement discussions to foster collaboration and innovation.
  • Communicate design rationale, research findings, and conceptual ideas effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.
  • Partner with developers to ensure technical feasibility and support post-implementation refinements.

Process and Support

  • Own the end-to-end design process, from ideation and prototyping to user testing and final delivery.

  • Document design processes, technical requirements, and release notes for diverse audiences.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of design workflows and tools within the Digital Channels team.

  • Passion for human-centered design with deep empathy for users and a commitment to solving real problems.

  • Exceptional visual design skills with a strong sense of aesthetics, typography, and motion design.

  • Ability to balance creativity with strategic thinking, delivering designs that meet both user needs and business objectives.
