About the role

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

Air Liquide is seeking a Field Specialist: Supervision of a Process and Pipeline Services (PPS) Field Operator during the safe operation of nitrogen or liquid pumping equipment at local base and customer sites. Acting as the lead customer contact during all PPS field operations, including meeting all on site requirements for both the customer and PPS groups. Daily activities include preparation of rolling stock equipment and ancillary equipment utilized to tie into customer systems. Rig in and pressure test equipment before operating nitrogen or liquid pumping equipment. Continuous checking and monitoring of equipment as well as safety and indicator gauges and systems. Completion of all commercial paperwork for invoicing and job management purposes. De-mobilizing and returning to base to help maintain equipment.

  • Ability to work: Has working knowledge of the service lines and products that ALC PPS offers and is able to operate and drive equipment required to perform those services.
  • Prepares for Job Mobilization: Supervises delegates and performs necessary tasks to ensure safe and efficient mobilization of equipment to and from site.
  • On-site excellence: Ensures the safe rig in and operation of ALC PPS equipment on customer sites.
  • Commercial Excellence: Ensures correct information is documented and communicated to PPS Operations Supervisor, Operations Manager and Sales Coordinator as well as captured in Air Liquide’s Process and Piping (PPS) commercial paperwork.
  • Process improvement: Works with his/her team and other multi-functional teams to continuously improve the work process. Analyzes his/her activities, identifies the causes of problems, and proposes adapted corrective measures.
  • Quality/Safety: Operates his/her vehicle in a safe manner. Reports any dangerous situation or accident quickly to the dispatcher and completes an accident report, if necessary.

Are you a MATCH?

  • 5+ years’ experience in the operation of nitrogen equipment, pumpers and bulkers.
  • 5+ years’ experience in oil refineries, petrochemical plants, pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up and maintenance within the Oil & Gas Industry, Heavy Industrial, Petrochemical & /or Power Plants.
  • Completed QT-601 Competency Checklist – PPS Operator
  • Completed QT-602 Competency Checklist – PPS Lead Operator
  • Completed QT-603 Competency Checklist – PPS Specialist
  • Understanding of the execution of Nitrogen services.
  • Class 1 driver license with off road experience and mechanical aptitude is a MUST have.
  • Educational background in Civil Engineering Technologist (CET), Mechanical Engineering Technologist (MET), Heavy Equipment Technician, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Bachelor of Technology and Technology Management, Power Engineering Technologist would be STRONGLY PREFERABLE.
  • Certifications an asset: CSTS, WHMIS, H2S, TDG
  • Frequent travel sites across Canada, roughly 70%
  • Shifts: Majority of work is out of local base and done on a 15 - 6 rotation with 12 hour shifts with a focus on Oil Sands Clients in Alberta, however the work/rotation could be at any of our client locations across Canada.
