About the role
Must haves: 5+ years of work or applied learning experience in technical fields (automotive, electrical, controls, data center) Ability to work flexible schedules, including 12‑hour shifts, rotating shifts, and 3‑, 4‑, or 5‑day work weeks Fundamental understanding of the National Electrical Code Experience with electrical systems in high‑availability or critical‑infrastructure environments (data centers, refineries, hospitals, pharma, manufacturing, etc.) OSHA or OSHA‑approved NFPA 70E certification (required) Job Description: Responsibilities: · Provide escort support for third‑party contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and service providers on site · Perform assigned tasks with supervision (rounds, initial equipment assessments, basic troubleshooting) · Monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life‑safety systems with supervision · Assist safely with emergency monitoring and response using EOPs · Follow all safety procedures and comply with physical security policies · Take daily operational readings (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.) during routine rounds · Follow SOPs for planned work in critical environments · Energize cabinets in a colocation environment · Perform quarterly and annual UPS preventative maintenance · Perform preventative maintenance on system control panels and batteries · Maintain a fundamental understanding of the National Electrical Code · Assist with troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing instrument sensors and performing calibration tasks · Support electrical infrastructure across the data‑center campus (large‑capacity and smaller sites) · Utilize Building Management Systems (EPMS) · Perform Remote Power Panel (RPP) shutdowns of one source (critical load remains on the “N” source) · Conduct PDU shutdowns for power‑meter replacements · Support Power Interruption Testing (PIT) · Assist with master controller shutdowns or replacements Required qualifications: · 5+ years of work or applied learning experience in technical fields (automotive, electrical, controls, data center) · Ability to work flexible schedules, including 12‑hour shifts, rotating shifts, and 3‑, 4‑, or 5‑day work weeks · Fundamental understanding of the National Electrical Code · Experience with electrical systems in high‑availability or critical‑infrastructure environments (data centers, refineries, hospitals, pharma, manufacturing, etc.) · OSHA or OSHA‑approved NFPA 70E certification (required) · Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) · High school diploma, GED, or equivalent · Previous data‑center experience is a plus
