About The Role
What if your years of chemistry expertise could directly shape how AI reasons through the most complex scientific problems in the world? We're looking for Masters and PhD-level chemists to help build and train cutting-edge AI models — designing challenging, real-world chemistry problems that push AI to think the way a true expert does.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role. No AI background needed — just deep domain knowledge and a passion for scientific rigor.
Organization: Alignerr Type: Hourly Contract Location: Remote Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
Design, solve, and review advanced chemistry problems with real-world scientific relevance Apply your expertise in organic, inorganic, physical, or computational chemistry to create complex, nuanced problem statements Evaluate AI-generated chemistry content for scientific accuracy, depth, and clarity Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and other domain experts to improve model reasoning Ensure all deliverables meet high standards of scientific rigor and communicative precision
Who You Are
Holds a Master's or PhD in Chemistry or a closely related field Deep expertise in one or more areas: organic, inorganic, physical, or computational chemistry Comfortable working with Python or computational chemistry tools such as Gaussian, VASP, or similar platforms Exceptionally detail-oriented with strong written communication skills in English Self-motivated and reliable when working independently on technical tasks
Nice to Have
Prior experience with data annotation, data quality evaluation, or AI training workflows Familiarity with cheminformatics tools or molecular modeling software Background in academic research, scientific publishing, or peer review Experience communicating complex chemistry concepts to non-specialist audiences
