We operate globally from our home in Saskatoon with Canadian offices in Toronto and Vancouver, and international offices in Australia, Mexico, and Chile. We are currently looking for a skilled and dedicated individual to grow our team and ensure that Dias is a great place to work.
Dias Geophysical is seeking a meticulous and assertive Accountant to join our Finance team. This role is critical to ensure that our payroll and accounting functions are completed accurately and on time. We’re looking for someone who thrives under pressure, owns deadlines, and can navigate the complexities of payroll and accounting with precision. Although the responsibilities of this role is primarily payroll, a strong accounting background is required in order to fulfill the role.
Responsibilities:
- Process full cycle payroll functions for Canadian employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Process other payroll related tasks such as filing source deductions, completing and submitting ROEs, track and reconcile employee benefits and ensuring payroll accounting is complete and accurate
- Prepare payroll reporting for internal stakeholders and government funding programs
- Support audit and compliance requests with clear and accurate documentation
- Prepare journal entries and month-end reconciliations
- Process Intercompany billings and reconciliations
- Continuously improve procedures and controls
- Stay current on changes to accounting policies and procedures, Canadian labor laws, and employment standards
Qualifications:
- Strong background in accounting, any experience in Canadian payroll processing would be preferential but not required
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data validation, etc.)
- Exceptional attention to detail — errors in this role have real consequences
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet non-negotiable deadlines
- Assertive communication skills; able to follow up, escalate when needed, and hold others accountable
- Working towards a CPA (Chartered Professional Accounting) designation or PCP certification (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) would be considered an asset
- Experience with accounting and payroll software is a plus
