Position Overview:

We are seeking an AC Asset Strategist to join our Asset Lifecycle Management Department. Under the general direction of the AC
Assets Lead and the Asset Lifecycle Delivery Section Head, responsible for coordination and development of asset strategies
leveraging RCM (Reliability Centred Maintenance) principles that optimize maintenance, operations and replacement of AC Assets.

AC Assets includes equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers, disconnect switches, switchgear, including other AC
substation and distribution line equipment. The AC Asset Strategist is responsible for providing technical leadership and ensuring
that lifecycle strategies are consistent with optimal lifecycle management principles, balancing cost, risk and performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership to staff in the AC Assets group.
  • Develop reports evaluating the repair, refurbish, replace decisions for AC Assets, based on condition assessments.
  • Take responsibility for RCM analysis process documentation and engineering approval of maintenance task templates and

maintenance standards.

  • Ensure that maintenance task templates and maintenance standards align with NERC reliability standards as required on Bulk

Electrical System equipment.

  • Provide input to the development of maintenance standards that affect AC Assets.
  • Develop Asset Lifecycle Studies and Spares Strategies on key asset classes to improve our asset management practices with

the equipment.

  • Collaborate with other utilities and external organizations to establish reliability benchmarks for asset strategies.
  • Provide training on maintenance philosophy, practice and standards to field staff, supervisory, management and maintenance

engineering staff.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of Electrical Engineering from a university of recognized standing with a minimum of seven years of experience

directly related to AC Assets.

  • Professional member in good standing with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba (or willingness and ability to attain within a

specified amount of time).

  • Thorough knowledge of electrical function and maintenance of AC Assets.
  • Knowledge of asset management theory, principles and ISO55000 and ISO55001.
  • Knowledge of RCM methodology, including FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) and root cause analysis for failures

and events.

  • Knowledge in maintenance applications and condition assessment processes related to asset management.
  • Proven ability to prepare technical reports, including business case analyses.

Salary Range

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The range for the classification is $52.88-$72.45 Hourly,
$101,332.40-$138,828.30 Annually.
