About The Role Our client is seeking an experienced Contract Administrator to join their Vancouver studio. The role will focus on administering projects currently in construction, including community centers, healthcare facilities, and large mixed-use developments. You will work closely with project architects, consultants, and construction teams to drive quality, ensure contract compliance, and see design intent through to successful built outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer contracts for multiple projects currently in construction, ensuring quality, cost, and schedule objectives are met
  • Conduct regular site reviews and prepare field reports, tracking progress and identifying potential issues early
  • Review and process RFIs, shop drawings, change orders, site instructions, and other contract documents
  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and internal teams to resolve design, technical, and construction issues
  • Review and coordinate the integration of building systems, including fire protection, life safety, mechanical, electrical, structural, and building envelope systems, to ensure compliance, constructability, and design intent during construction
  • Ensure adherence to British Columbia Building Code (BCBC), Vancouver Building By-law (VBBL), and project specifications Maintain organized contract documentation and support clear communication across all stakeholders
  • Provide feedback to project teams to inform future documentation quality and constructability
  • Represent the firm professionally in meetings with clients, contractors, and authorities

Qualifications

  • Architectural or technical diploma or degree
  • 8+ years of professional experience, including at least 3 years in a dedicated contract administration role
  • Extensive experience with construction-phase services on complex institutional, healthcare, community, or mixed-use projects
  • Comprehensive knowledge of building systems and assemblies, including fire protection, life safety, mechanical, electrical, structural, and building envelope systems, with the ability to review, coordinate, and oversee their implementation during construction
  • Thorough understanding of CCDC contracts, construction law principles, and consultant-contractor-client dynamics
  • Strong working knowledge of BCBC, VBBL, and local building permit processes
  • Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam , Revit , and Microsoft Office
  • Registration with Architectural Institute of British Columbia (AIBC) or eligible preferred
