What this role is all about: As a Member Service Agent, you will be the first point of contact for members, delivering exceptional service and support through telephone and alternate communication channels. You will use your strong interpersonal skills and sales/service experience to identify member needs, provide tailored solutions, and contribute to business growth and retention.
This position is hybrid and will require you to be in branch 2 days per week. Preference will be given to candidates within the Okanagan region.
What you’ll do: Member Support & Service Delivery
- Respond to a wide variety of incoming inquiries via phone or alternate channels.
- Identify member needs and provide accurate information, solutions, and seamless service.
- Resolve member issues and complaints efficiently, ensuring timely and satisfactory outcomes.
- Demonstrate adaptability in delivering service across multiple channels.
- Drive high member satisfaction through effective communication and problem resolution.
Sales & Product Knowledge
- Understand and explain credit products and services, including creditor insurance.
- Make appropriate referrals to other departments or specialists as needed.
- Participate in marketing campaigns and initiatives to support business growth and retention targets.
- Engage in ongoing training to stay current with products, services, and technology.
Transaction Processing & Compliance
- Accurately process member transactions while maintaining a high level of service.
- Ensure all interactions are handled with professionalism and attention to detail.
- Adhere to all safety, privacy, and ensure compliance with all established safety, privacy, and regulatory policies and procedures.
- Protect member and Credit Union interests by following established guidelines.
Additional Responsibilities
- Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned to contribute to the overall success of the team and organization.
- Actively engage in team initiatives and marketing campaigns to help achieve performance targets and strategic goals.
- Continuously enhance knowledge and service delivery skills through training, feedback, and self-directed learning.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure consistency and alignment with business and strategic objectives.
A little about your qualifications:
- High school diploma/Grade 12, plus one (1) year of formal post-secondary education or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2 - 3 years of job-related experience in a financial sales and service environment
- Basic understanding of credit products and procedures
- Knowledgeable in full range of investment products
- Basic understanding of mutual funds (a Mutual Fund License is not required)
- Previous contact centre experience preferred, but NOT mandatory
- Financial planning courses considered an asset
- Equivalent combination of the above may be appropriate
What will you gain:
- Competitive base salary; reviewed annually. The salary range for this position is $51,400 to $62,000. The starting salary will be based on related education, training, and experience.
