We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and customer-focused Plumbing Service Supervisor to lead and grow with our service division. This position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the plumbing service department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality service while maintaining operational efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction. The Plumbing Service Supervisor will provide leadership and support to a team of service technicians, working closely with dispatch, administration, project management, and senior leadership to ensure service requests are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing technician performance, supporting business development initiatives, maintaining strong customer relationships, and driving continuous improvement within the department. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires a strong technical background in plumbing systems, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be comfortable balancing field support, customer interactions, staff development, operational planning, and financial accountability. Key Responsibilities Supervise and support a team of plumbing service technicians. Coordinate daily scheduling and dispatching of service calls. Review work orders and ensure technicians have the required information, materials, and equipment before arriving on site. Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to field staff. Conduct site visits, inspections, and customer meetings as required. Assist with preparing estimates, quotations, and repair recommendations. Review completed service orders for accuracy, completeness, and proper billing. Monitor technician productivity, utilization, and overall performance. Conduct as needed field evaluations to ensure quality workmanship and adherence to company standards. Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and company policies. Manage customer concerns, service escalations, and warranty-related issues in a professional and timely manner. Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers while identifying opportunities for additional services and preventative maintenance agreements. Work closely with dispatch, administration, project management, and accounting teams to ensure smooth operational workflow. Review service reports, labour hours, and material usage to maximize efficiency and profitability. Monitor departmental KPIs including revenue, gross profit, billable hours, response times, and customer satisfaction. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and departmental planning. Support the hiring process, including interviewing, onboarding, and training new employees. Conduct employee development plans for team members. Provide coaching, mentoring, and ongoing training to improve technician skills and customer service performance. Coordinate with suppliers and vendors regarding equipment, materials, warranties, and technical support. Ensure company vehicles, tools, and equipment are properly maintained and utilized. Participate in after-hours escalation support and emergency service coordination as required. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance service delivery. Promote a positive team culture focused on safety, accountability, professionalism, and customer satisfaction. Support sales efforts by identifying repair, replacement, and maintenance opportunities during customer interactions. Prepare and present service department reports to senior management.
Qualifications Minimum 10 years of experience in the plumbing industry. Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred. Strong understanding of plumbing systems, diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office 365. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
