About the role

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented, reliable, and proactive Accounting Assistant to join our team at TRAPA’s Richmond Head Office. This is a key role within our Accounting team, responsible for managing the timely and accurate processing of payables and receivables, supporting cash flow management, and ensuring the integrity of financial records.

We are looking for someone who can step into a well-defined role and contribute from the outset. This is not a training ground, and we expect applicants to have a clear understanding of the responsibilities they will be taking on.

Core Responsibilities

Full-cycle accounts payable processing: receiving, verifying, coding, and entering invoices Vendor reconciliations and resolving discrepancies Preparation of payment runs (EFT, cheques, wires) Monitoring AP aging and managing payment schedules Communicating professionally with vendors, internal colleagues, and management Full-cycle accounts receivable (AR) processes Supporting month-end close activities and year-end audit requirements Maintaining organized AP records and documentation in compliance with company standards

Candidate Profile

Accounting background strongly preferred (diploma, degree, or equivalent work experience) Understanding of AP and AR processes is required Completion of an AP course is considered a strong asset Proficient with Excel and general accounting software; experience with our current ERP system will be taught Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written) – must be able to clearly communicate with colleagues, vendors, and articulate issues to the Financial Manager Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage workload and priorities independently Proactive, professional, and team-oriented mindset

Working Environment

This is a stable and well-supported AP role within a growing and dynamic company. The successful candidate will be walking into a well-established process and supported by an experienced Accounting team, including our Financial Manager whom this position will report directly to.

Salary: $54,000-$58,000 annually. Dependent on experience.
