About the role
Forward Creative is dedicated to shaping a more prosperous future for Atlantic Canada. By partnering with governments, non-profits, and ambitious businesses, we tackle complex challenges and transform bold ideas into lasting change.
Our mission is simple but powerful: to empower our clients to be a force for good. We provide the strategy, the people, and the tools needed to bring high-impact projects to life. Creativity and courage fuel everything we do—because that’s what it takes to drive growth, improve quality of life, and build momentum toward a brighter tomorrow.
We act with intention, leading initiatives from infrastructure and economic development to organizational transformation. But we don’t stop at strategy. Our work is grounded in a deep commitment to community well-being, uncompromising integrity, and a culture of inclusion.
At Forward Creative, we exist to turn vision into reality—and to build a stronger future for Atlantic Canada, one initiative at a time.
We’re hiring a Technology Specialist to join our growing digital team—someone who’s as comfortable building a beautiful website experience and setting up software. From websites to CRMs, you’ll help us take bold ideas and turn them into high-performing websites and platforms that move people, data, and organizations forward.
This role is for a developer and tech guru who sees technology as a tool that can be used to build, solve problems, and create systems that are as user-focused as they are technically sound.
Key Responsibilities

- Integrate AI tools and APIs (e.g. OpenAI, Google Cloud AI) to streamline and enhance digital user experiences
- Plan and lead custom digital tool implementations (eg. CRMs) based on client needs
- Implement platform and CMS customization (e.g. WordPress, Webflow, etc.)
- Build internal automations and workflow tools that support service delivery, project tracking, and business operations
- Translate design mockups into responsive, accessible, and performant web experiences
- Bring micro-interactions and motion to the front end to elevate UX using tools like GSAP, Lottie, or Framer Motion
- Work closely with strategists, designers, and project leads to define tech solutions from the early stage to deployment
Your Skills & Experience
- Proficient with full-stack WordPress website development using tools like Elementor
- Familiarity with CMS customization and headless CMS architecture
- Proficiency in JavaScript (React, Next.js, Node.js), HTML, CSS, and modern frontend frameworks
- Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and working with database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, Firebase, MongoDB)
- Experience with AI or ML tool integration (OpenAI, Langchain, Claude, etc.)
- Strong understanding of authentication, permissions, and security best practices
- Experience working with a variety of digital tools to improve business functions in communication, project management, marketing tools, and more
What You Bring
- 4–6 years of full-stack development experience across full-stack environments
- A builder’s mindset—you're driven by curiosity and excited to solve new types of technical challenges
- Ability to balance creative flair with website performance and scalability
- Clear, confident communication—especially when translating technical decisions for non-technical stakeholders
- Flexibility and speed—you thrive in fast-paced, project-based environments with shifting client needs
- Excitement for working on real-world tools, systems, and solutions that make a difference in people’s lives
Benefits
- Health and dental coverage
- Paid sick leave
- Vacation
- Commission Opportunity
- Bonus structure based on performance and impact
Growth & Learning
- Onboarding and coaching from senior team leads
- Professional Development Hours (PDH)
- Purpose-driven work across government, community, and business sectors
We are a high-performing team with real opportunity for leadership and impact.
