JOB DESCRIPTION
Location: Windsor, ON - 5x Per Week On-Site
Employment: Full-Time Permanent
Pay: $70,000-$80,000 Per Year
Insight Global is seeking a Buyer for a leading global manufacturer in Windsor, Ontario. The Buyer will report directly to the Plant Manager and be responsible for managing supplier relationships, negotiating costs, supporting new product launches, and ensuring the timely procurement of materials and services. This individual will play a key role in driving cost reduction initiatives, supplier development, and sourcing strategies while collaborating with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Global Purchasing teams. - Manage RFQ processes and commodity purchasing activities for new and existing products. - Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and supplier agreements to secure optimal cost, quality, and service. - Identify and execute annual cost reduction opportunities through supplier negotiations and VAVE initiatives. - Coordinate supplier PPAP submissions and ensure on-time part approvals and deliveries. - Manage supplier purchase orders, supplier ratings, aluminum and currency adjustments, and tooling records. - Support new product launches, including design reviews, ECR processing, packaging validation, PPAP documentation, and label certifications. - Partner with Engineering and Quality teams on product and process changes. - Drive capital purchasing activities and support strategic sourcing projects. - Develop and maintain supplier relationships while ensuring supplier compliance requirements are met. - Support indirect purchasing activities, including catalogue purchases, requisitions, and supplier negotiations
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

4+ years of purchasing or procurement experience in a manufacturing environment.

Automotive purchasing experience.

Experience managing RFQs, supplier contracts, and cost reduction initiatives.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Understanding of manufacturing cost drivers, particularly aluminum die casting and machining processes.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems.

Experience working cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams.
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

College degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.

PMAC Level III designation or equivalent procurement certification.
-
Experience with Oracle ERP.

Experience supporting global sourcing initiatives.
-
Exposure to acquisition integration activities.
-
Change management experience.
