Requirements: Bachelor of Education
Desired Qualifications/Skills:
- Holds, or is eligible to obtain, an Alberta Teaching Certificate.
- Adherence to the Teaching Quality Standards.
- Experience with Grade 5 and Grade 6 Program of Studies and Alberta Curriculum.
- Asset to have experience with combined classes.
- Student centered approach to instruction and strong relationship building skills.
- Focused on differentiated instruction
- Ability to design, program, and implement instruction for neurodivergent students.
- Effective organizational, interpersonal and classroom management skills.
- Strong collaborative team player and a positive staff member.
- Dedication to First Nations, Metis and Inuit Education and implementation of Indigenous ways of knowing and being.
- Excellence in Resource Management and PE Equipment
- Previous experience in establishing strong positive connection with students outside the classroom (ie. clubs and teams)
- Recognize the importance of promoting the school with parents and in the community.
- Proven ability to build positive and collaborative relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional growth.
- Exhibit a strong work ethic.
- Be a reflective practitioner who is flexible and adaptable.
