Assistant Director of Public Facilities - Public Facilities Department
The Town of Sandwich, MA has an immediate opening for a 40 hr/wk Assistant Director of Public Facilities. Position reports to the Town’s Director of Public Facilities.
Position performs a wide variety of Administrative and manual work relating to the maintenance, repair and alterations of public buildings, and related equipment; all other work as required. Independently performs building maintenance and repair functions, following acceptable standards of quality and performance. Candidate will preferably be a licensed electrician, plumber and/or experience with HVAC and must be skilled in performing preventative maintenance and repair. Candidate will regularly be expected to perform manual labor, including snow removal, regularly climbing ladders, working on roofs, in tight spaces and to be regularly expected to be lifting or moving 50 pounds. Preferred candidate will have 3-5 years supervisory experience and must possess a valid Massachusetts driver’s license, be responsible, self-motivated and a team player. Successful candidate must obtain a Massachusetts Unrestricted Construction Supervisor’s License within 12 months of hire.
Wage: $40.00 - $44.00 per hour commensurate with experience with excellent benefits.

About Sandwich Cultural Council
The Sandwich Cultural Council supports and promotes local projects and programs of interest to the residents of Sandwich. Funds are awarded for programs in the arts, humanities, and interpretive sciences.
The Sandwich Cultural Council awards grants to organizations and individuals for the presentation of quality programs in the arts, humanities, and interpretive sciences. Priority will be given to applications that demonstrate a direct public benefit to the Town of Sandwich.
Our goal is to fund a broad range of programs so that all members of our community will find something of interest. We encourage: -proposals from local and area artists, schools, nonprofits, and local organizations; -programs/projects that promote art education; -collaboration between cultural groups and community organizations. Depending on the amount of grant money available each year from the MCC, successful applicants are usually awarded grants between $150 and $500. Awards may be for full or partial funding of a program/project.
