Challenger Geomatics Ltd., an Inline Group Company, is looking for a Powerline Party Chief to join our team in the Edmonton area. This is your chance to get involved in long-term projects. What You’ll Be Doing:·Powerline Survey Operations– Complete powerline surveys while working closely with the Project Manager to ensure all client objectives are met.·Data & Documentation Management– Provide necessary documentation to office staff including field notes, computations, and other survey data.·Team Communication & Coordination– Communicate effectively with team members and ensure tasks are completed accurately and on schedule.·Health & Safety Compliance– Perform all health and safety duties in accordance with company safety procedures and standards.·Survey Equipment Operation– Operate and maintain survey equipment such as GPS/GNSS rovers, locators, and other survey tools while ensuring company vehicles and equipment are properly used and maintained.·Boundary & Data Assessment– Understand legal boundary evidence assessment and perform required calculations.·Powerline Profiling– Perform powerline profiling using GPS and distometer equipment.
What We’re Looking For:·Education & Experience– Diploma or Degree in Geomatics or a related discipline along with powerline utility survey experience, which is required for this role.·Utility Industry Knowledge– Experience working with powerline utility surveys and familiarity with ATCO Electric and FortisAlberta workflows is considered an asset.·Field Flexibility– Willingness to travel and work out of town as required.·Licensed & Reliable– Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract.·Physically Capable– Comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions and carrying equipment over long distances.·Technical Skills– Line locating experience is required. Experience with 3D scanning and operating modern survey equipment is considered an asset.·Drone Certification– Advanced RPAS (Drone) Pilot Certification is considered an asset.·Safety Training– Valid safety certificates such as H2S, First Aid, CSTS, and Wildlife Awareness are considered assets.
