**Project Manager – IT Infrastructure Refresh (12 Month Contract)

Location: New Westminster, BC / Hybrid

Staffing Placement Opportunity** Project Description And Background The Project Manager will join a team of staff and contract project managers supporting IT Programs & Projects. The initial assignment will be part of an IT Infrastructure Refresh Program, with a focus on projects involving client computing and Windows 11 upgrades.

Strong experience in IT infrastructure project management is essential. The candidate should also be capable of producing detailed business cases and program planning documentation in collaboration with both business and technical stakeholders. Experience in the Canadian public sector is highly desirable.

Additional project assignments may be made depending on suitability and qualifications. These may range from feasibility studies to full implementation projects.

SCOPE OF SERVICES The successful candidate is expected to follow the BTS project management methodology, including use of templates, gates, and phases. Responsibilities will span the full project management lifecycle: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and control, and closure.

Key Tasks Include

  • Providing leadership to project teams (business analysts, architects, business reps)
  • Developing comprehensive business cases and alignment with enterprise goals
  • Preparing project documentation using established PM methodology
  • Managing all project aspects including scheduling, budgeting, risk, procurement, and reporting
  • Overseeing internal and external resources across multiple projects
  • Supporting project governance and stakeholder engagement
  • Providing monthly and ad hoc project updates and status reports
  • Managing project risks, issues, and decisions
  • Delivering assigned project outcomes and documentation

EXPECTED DELIVERABLES

  • Business cases with full financials, risk analysis, project schedule, and high-level strategy
  • Project initiation documents (Charter, Feasibility Study, Configurator, Change Management docs)
  • Detailed project management plans including Communication and Risk Plans
  • Monthly status reports using the standard reporting system
  • Documentation for steering and technical committee meetings
  • Budget updates and cash flow forecasts
  • RAID logs (Risk, Action, Issue, Decision)
  • Closeout reports and project change requests as applicable

Required Experience And Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure project management
  • Proven success managing project delivery partners
  • Experience with Windows 11 upgrade projects is highly desirable
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 8+ years of full-cycle technology project management, preferably with SDLC exposure
  • Experience managing $2M+ budgets and teams of 10+
  • Canadian public sector project experience is an asset
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal abilities
  • Demonstrated urgency and ownership of project outcomes
  • Deep knowledge in managing risk, scope, time, budget, and resources
  • Experience managing complex contracts and vendor relationships
  • PMP certification is preferred, but not required
  • Experience managing change and facilitating broad consultation processes
  • Strong understanding of strategic alignment between projects and organizational goals
  • Advanced user of MS Office tools including Project and SharePoint
