Position Summary
Talon Metals is seeking a results orientated Corporate/Commercial Lawyer to join a fast-paced dynamic team.
Reporting to the President, this is a broad generalist in-house position where you’ll be advising the business on a wide range of legal and compliance matters. A focus of this role will include working on Talon Metals’ public company reporting requirements and drafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of commercial contracts. The role will also provide support on compliance and governance matters and deliver strategic advice on day-to-day legal matters.
You will be embedded in the company as a true business partner, and you should be someone who enjoys and has experience working closely to support a business. You should be comfortable navigating a fast-paced business environment and capable of hitting the ground running with sound judgment and commercial awareness.
The Requirements

Called to the Bar and a member in good standing in a Province of Canada

The ideal candidate will have 4 to 8 years of post-call experience, with a strong foundation in corporate/commercial law working in a law firm and/or in house.

Preference will be given to candidates with mining related experience and/or public company reporting experience.

Enthusiastic, hard-working and confident working at a senior level with other professional colleagues

Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectives

Ability to advise management on risks across the business and strategies for mitigation.

About Talon Metals Corp
Talon is a TSX-listed base metals company in a joint venture with Rio Tinto on the high-grade Tamarack Nickel-Copper-Cobalt Project located in Minnesota, USA, comprised of the Tamarack North Project and the Tamarack South Project. Talon has an earn-in to acquire up to 60% of the Tamarack Project.
The Tamarack Project comprises a large land position (18km of strike length) with numerous high-grade intercepts outside the current resource area.
Talon is focused on expanding its current high-grade nickel mineralization resource prepared in accordance with NI 43-101; identifying additional high-grade nickel mineralization; and developing a process to potentially produce nickel sulphates responsibly for batteries for the electric vehicles industry. Talon has a well-qualified exploration and mine management team with extensive experience in project management.
