Job Summary Our client, an established organization in the Rental services sector, specializes in providing logistical solutions for large-scale projects. The Senior Logistics Manager will oversee operations to ensure timely, efficient, and cost-effective service delivery, managing a team that includes customer success, fleet management, and installation staff. This position is key to optimizing operational processes, driving financial performance, and enhancing the overall customer experience.
The Role
- Develop and implement a unified operational plan, aligning customer success, dispatch, and fleet teams for consistent service delivery.
- Ensure high-quality customer execution through on-time and accurate operations, managing service recovery for urgent orders.
- Take ownership of financial performance, including labor costs, fleet management, and service delivery metrics, ensuring alignment with budgetary targets.
- Monitor daily operations, managing dispatch, routing, and fleet teams to ensure route readiness and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with the sales team to ensure alignment between customer commitments and operational capabilities.
- Work with warehouse teams to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment, minimizing delays and rework.
- Optimize route planning, crew deployment, and fleet utilization to maximize throughput and minimize inefficiencies.
- Ensure compliance with fleet safety and maintenance regulations, implementing training programs to reduce risk and enhance operational safety.
- Lead efforts to continuously reduce downtime, accidents, and service failures through proactive management.
The Ideal Candidate
- Post-secondary education in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field would be an asset.
- 10+ years of experience in logistics or transportation management, with at least 3 years in a senior or multi-site leadership role.
- Experience in industries with high-volume logistical operations, such as rentals, project management, or seasonal services.
- Strong understanding of fleet safety, compliance, and transportation regulations (e.g., TDG, DOT, CVOR).
- Proficiency with logistics software, route optimization tools, and fleet management systems.
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel between multiple locations.
- Industry-specific certifications or professional designations are a plus.
- Excellent leadership skills, with experience managing cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to drive continuous improvement and manage operational scale without increasing costs proportionally.
