As an HR Advisor, you will report directly to the HR Manager, with whom you will work closely. You will play a key role as the primary HR contact for Canadian and US employees and managers at the head office.
The Role This role combines advisory functions and administrative responsibilities.
HR advice and support
- Provide informed advice to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and programs (performance management, labor relations, skills development, etc.), taking into account specific Canadian and U.S. regulations;
- Collaborate in resolving HR issues, ensuring a fair and equitable approach;
- Support employees and managers and participate, when necessary, in the various processes of the HR cycle (performance reviews, talent reviews, etc.);
- Support the HR manager in certain strategic matters concerning the departments under her responsibility.
HR administration and payroll
- Ensure the accurate processing and entry of data required for payroll preparation, in collaboration with the payroll department;
- Manage employee files (hiring, changes, departures, etc.) and maintain HR databases;
- Participate in the development and continuous improvement of HR administrative processes.
Recruitment, onboarding, and integration of new employees
- Participate in needs assessments between recruiters and managers and assist them, as needed, until the offer is made;
- Coordinate and actively participate in the onboarding and integration process for new members of the head office teams, whether in person or remotely;
- Prepare the necessary documents for integration and ensure that the first few weeks go smoothly.
Training follow-up
- Ensure administrative follow-up of training activities (invoices, certifications, etc.);
- Define the training needs of departments.
Internal HR communication
- Participate in the drafting and distribution of internal communications.
Profile
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in human resources, including at least 1 year in a consulting role;
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, industrial relations, or any other relevant field;
- Significant experience in HR administration;
- Very good command of French and English, in order to support employees in Canada and the United States;
- Good knowledge of current labor standards in Canada (an asset in the United States);
- Excellent interpersonal skills;
- Rigorous and detail-oriented;
- Good command of computer tools (knowledge of Google Suite an asset).
