About the role

Cellula is looking to add a Quality Control Inspector to its Quality team to support its growing list of projects.

Cellula Robotics Ltd. is a world-leading marine technology company focused on changing the paradigm of subsea survey, science and security through modular, long range, autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) systems. As the QC Inspector, you will focus on ensuring compliance with company and customer quality standards in a projectized, team environment

This position is primarily an on-site position with some limited flexibility for remote work.

Duties and Responsibilities

Inspection & Testing

  • Perform receiving inspection on incoming orders for compliance with quality standards and engineering drawings (mechanical, electrical, metrology, etc.)
    • Thorough, meticulous and able to enforce a high standard
    • Able to navigate time and project pressure when nonconformities are encountered to maintain high standard
    • Act as the first line of defense to catch deviations before they move further into stages of production
  • Initiate NCRs to capture anomalies and complete any actions as required
  • Communicate the results of inspections to stakeholders and consult with subject matter experts when required
  • Manage QC calibrated tools and equipment
  • Electronically receive parts after inspection is passed in our ERP system
  • Organize parts in a controlled inventory location until released to the project

Maintenance of Records

  • Maintain inspection reports & QC drawings for quality control of products throughout the course of a project
  • Archive and control QC records when a build is complete with the support of the Quality team
  • Support Engineering in the creation of test plans for quality control of products
  • Prepare and maintain test data for review

Maintenance of Compliance

  • Actively promote quality achievement and enforce standards throughout the project organization
  • Help to achieve quality compliance objectives and industry standards
  • Recommend improvement measures to the production process to ensure quality control standards are met
  • Witness tests & review documentation on behalf of Quality or clients

Required Skills & Experience

Technical & Software Skill Requirements

  • Previous experience in providing Quality Control in a mechanical and/or electronics production environment: 5+ years
  • Formal metrology training & hands-on experience with manual metrology tools: 5+ years
  • Inventory control experience: 1-5 years
  • Previous experience in a projectized work environment: 1-5 years
  • Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel

  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Advanced trouble-shooting skills
  • Strong team-work skills, with an ability to collaborate with a variety of team members
  • Able to prioritize & execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • ISO 9001:2015 quality control
  • Experience with engineering projects
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Experience with writing and enforcing standard operating procedures (SOPs)
