About Us:

Major Responsibilities (not limited to):

  • Work in a safe manner consistent with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and KMC policies and ensure work areas comply with proper housekeeping and safety procedures at all times.
  • Wear all required PPE as per department and job function requirements.
  • Operate all equipment and machinery according to established safety rules, SOPs, and at set standard rates.
  • Maintain full product traceability as per ISO and department standards.
  • Operate all Cleaning Room equipment according to current requirements.
  • Ensure full traceability of the product in accordance with ISO standards.
  • Perform minor maintenance, such as greasing, changing bearings and changing saw blades.
  • Safely operate overhead material handling equipment.
  • Maintain proper housekeeping procedures.
  • Prepare and install end-plates (blasting, spray-up, disk installation, pin installation).
  • Assist with various tasks as a helper-in-training in the foundry.
  • Ensure all written communication and notes are detailed, clear, legible, and easily understood.
  • Actively work towards achieving the next position level.
  • Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as required.

Education, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a foundry or manufacturing setting is an asset.
  • Must pass required testing.
  • Able to follow provided instructions accurately.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and accurately use a tape measure.

Physical and Mental Working Conditions:

  • Manufacturing Foundry environment
  • Fumes, noise, sharp tools and machinery, vibrating equipment
  • Long periods of standing
  • Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of hands, arms and legs and moving whole body, such as lifting, pushing, pulling, balancing, walking, stooping and handling materials.
  • Must be able to work from a ladder, scaffolds or rooftop to inspect and perform minor repairs.
  • Outdoor work also required.
  • Ability to work a rotation of day/afternoon/and night shift on a two-week basis
