About the role

Inspired HR is partnering with a premier Swiss IT services company specializing in secure, scalable network infrastructure, cybersecurity, and managed services.

With 25+ years of industry leadership and more than 290 team members globally, our client is proud to partner with top-tier clients to deliver enterprise-grade solutions across cloud, network, security, and cyber defense.

Recognized by Cisco, Palo Alto, VMware, and NetApp with top-tier partner designations, they are the only Cisco EMEA partner to hold all 13 solution specializations — including AI-ready infrastructure.

In 2025, they expanded into Canada to bring their engineering excellence, collaborative culture, and European innovation to Vancouver. They’re growing their local team and looking for professionals ready to make an impact in a global operation with a personal feel.

Why Work Here?

Global Tech, Local Team

  • Work closely with Swiss and international experts, while helping build a high-performance, collaborative team here in downtown Vancouver.

Hybrid Flexibility

  • Enjoy a modern coworking office once per week. Core hours are 8AM–4PM (PST), giving you structure and freedom.

Meaningful Work in Networks & Cybersecurity

  • From MDR/SOC to SD-WAN and advanced firewall environments, you’ll engage with complex, enterprise-grade infrastructure that truly keeps the digital world safer.

Swiss Onboarding Experience

  • Kick off your journey with an immersive onboarding trip to their Swiss HQ —fully sponsored. Get hands-on training, meet your international colleagues, and experience culture firsthand.

Clear Growth Path

  • We don’t just encourage certifications—we sponsor them. Cisco Live Europe? Paid for. Upskilling on NetApp or Palo Alto? Covered. Learning is in our DNA.

Stability + Innovation

  • They’re privately held, profitable, and founder-led since 1998. They take pride in combining engineering precision with entrepreneurial spirit.

People-First Culture

  • Their team is built on trust, transparency, and respect. From flexible hours to generous vacation and sick time, they prioritize your well-being and success.

What You'll Be Part Of:

  • A tight-knit international team with deep Cisco and cybersecurity expertise (45+ CCIEs)
  • A company that values humility, professionalism, and curiosity
  • Operational Tasks that matter, in Network, Security Platform and the era of rising cybersecurity threats
  • A long-term career home, not a stepping stone.

We’re on the lookout for a Senior Network Operations Engineer to join our dynamic client teams. In this role, you’ll drive the service delivery and optimization of complex network and security infrastructures, triage cyber security cases and support seamless service delivery. Join a collaborative international team where your expertise and leadership will make a meaningful impact.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the operation, optimization, and reliability of enterprise-grade network and security infrastructures (LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, Firewalls).
  • Lead the planning and execution of complex network changes, upgrades, and migrations ensuring minimal disruption and alignment with client SLAs.
  • Respond to high-level escalations, diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve critical network issues with a calm and analytical approach.
  • Triage and classification of cyber security incidents based on severity, including initiation of appropriate response measures.
  • Close collaboration with our Blue Team as part of Tier 1 SOC operations for our MDR (Managed Detection & Response) customers.
  • Collaborate with international colleagues and stakeholders to align on project goals, share insights, and drive standardization and innovation.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of tools, workflows, and documentation, ensuring smooth service delivery and operational efficiency.

Benefits

  • Base salary of $100K-$135K
  • Generous vacation entitlement beginning at 3 weeks' vacation, increasing to 4 weeks' vacation from 3 to 5 years of service, and 5 weeks' vacation at 5 years of service.
  • Extended health and dental benefits

  • Company sponsored (and required) Cisco Live in Europe attendance combined with a visit of the headquarters in Switzerland
  • Free training and certification sponsorship (Cisco, Palo Alto, NetApp and more)
  • State of the art IT equipment provided
  • International working environment with regular team check-ins and virtual socials

Requirements

  • 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience working with complex Cisco networks, including routing and switching, wireless, and/or network security (Cisco ASA, Firepower, or Palo Alto).
  • CCNP certification.
  • Experience in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment preferred
  • Strong understanding of ITIL-based service delivery, preferably in environments using platforms like ServiceNow.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to take initiative, make decisions under pressure, and drive solutions to completion.
  • Clear and confident communication skills in English, both spoken and written—able to explain complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • German language skills are a significant advantage (but not required), as many customers are based in Switzerland.
  • A collaborative and proactive mindset, with experience working in remote and multicultural teams.
  • Growth mindset and a bias for action with an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Possess current Canadian work authorization (sponsorship not available)
