About the role

Fero Waste and Recycling Inc, a division of The Municipal Group of Companies, is a solid waste company that services New Brunswick and Nova Scotia and is currently seeking the knowledge and expertise of a Roll-Off Operator.

Job Summary:
The Roll-Off Operator is responsible for the hauling of customer waste from industrial, commercial, and institutional sites. The driver is responsible for performing assigned duties on container delivery and hauling of industrial roll-off routes.

Highlights:
Day shifts, Monday to Friday (with an early morning start time)

Additional hours and occasional variations from the schedule may be required to meet business demand

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Satisfy customer needs for service. Ensure that service is completed in accordance with established policies

Responsible for daily pre and post-trip inspections

Complete daily route as assigned by the Operations Manager

The daily route consists of driving to customer sites, securing bins on the truck, emptying bins at the transfer station, returning the bin to the customer site

Perform driver check-ins at day’s end to ensure complete and accurate paperwork completion

Ensure assigned routes are completed in a timely and safe manner

Ensure that all protocols are followed while dumping loads at municipal recycling/waste facilities

Required to climb up the ladder on the truck to tarp loads

Required to be able to lift the Roll-Off hook and attach it to the bin, requires bending and ability to lift 25-50 pounds

May perform some other additional responsibilities as assigned by the Operations Manager.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, and Experience:

1-2 years of driving experience in a transportation sector

Must possess minimum Class 3 Drivers license with air brake endorsement

Experience driving manual transmission

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Strong customer focus

Proven ability to multi-task & ability to prioritize tasks

Knowledge of the industry is considered an asset

Willingness to pick up shifts and work additional hours as required

Clean drivers abstract
