Maintenance Specialist
About the role
Shift Time: 10:45 PM – 7:15 AM, Monday to Friday, with flexibility to accommodate schedule changes and occasional weekend work as required.
Candidates must hold a valid Millwright certification. Received from either A recognized apprenticeship program, or From a minimum four years of relevant maintenance experience
This position is for a current vacancy and has a compensation range of $50 - 55/hour.
What you are responsible for: Ensure proper operation of all plant equipment and systems Maintain the physical appearance and functionality of the facility Assist with or lead Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) projects as assigned Follow all Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) to ensure consistent product quality and safety Promote and maintain a safe working environment by monitoring plant activities Complete projects with minimal guidance, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills Troubleshoot mechanical devices and disassemble/inspect to identify and repair issues Adjust, repair, or replace defective parts and control instruments Set up and operate shop machinery as needed Utilize hand tools and pneumatic tools to modify or repair components Install, repair, or modify hydraulic and pneumatic systems Improve equipment reliability and plant uptime Operate forklifts and Sky Jacks safely and efficiently Support all food safety and quality programs, including BRC, HACCP, GMPs, and allergen control Research and source parts, supplies, and machinery required to complete maintenance tasks Help maintain an accurate inventory of parts and tools Perform and document work orders and preventive maintenance tasks using a CMMS system
What you need to bring to Embassy: Possession of a valid Mechanical Trade Certification, forklift/scissor lift license Mechanical Engineering diploma Candidates must hold a valid Millwright certification. Received from either: A recognized apprenticeship program, or From a minimum four years of relevant maintenance experience Demonstrated maintenance experience within a regulated food manufacturing environment Experience with managing teams across multiple shifts Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including gearboxes, motors, air compressors, pumps, HVAC, and AC/DC drive troubleshooting Familiarity with complex machine controls, instrumentation, welding/brazing, pneumatics, and carpentry Hands-on experience with mechanical equipment and electrical experience with motors, sensors, VFDs, and related equipment Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Able to lift up to 25 kg (55 lbs) Able to stand for extended periods Comfortable working at heights (e.g., lift trucks, ladders) Intermediate PC and basic mathematical skills Good organizational, verbal, and written communication skills Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Able to rapidly assess situations, allocate resources, and lead timely execution Must be able to work all shifts: Days, Afternoon, Nights and Weekends as required

Enjoy working in a dynamic work environment with multiple demands. Highly organized/proven multi-tasker. Technically proficient (self manages). Environmental conditions: Exposures encountered, such as hazardous materials, loud noise, or extreme heat/cold. Essential physical requirements, such as climbing, walking, standing, stooping, or typing. Physical effort/lifting, such as sedentary - up to 10 pounds; light - up to 20.
