We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical individual to join our Hydrocarbon Settlements team as a New Grad Settlement Accounting Analyst. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of invoices related to the daily sales and purchases of physical hydrocarbon commodities, as well as the associated fees.
Minimum Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business or Technical Diploma with minimum of 2 years experience or an equivalent combination
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite with strong working knowledge of Excel and Power BI
- Experience with applications to support task automation such as Microsoft Co-Pilot, Python, SQL.
- Working knowledge of database software (SAP, Prism, BEX, BW, Peoplesoft etc.)
- General knowledge of invoicing, billing and/or accounts payable is beneficial
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of sales invoices by analyzing source data to create accurate customer sales invoices and by ensure the timely transmission of the invoice to the customer
- Work with counterparties and internal team members to resolve sales and purchase invoice discrepancies
- Processes vendors’ invoices for product and secondary costs
- Perform ad-hoc analysis and reporting in support of various business opportunities and/or other duties as requested or assigned
- Prepare account reconciliations to support accurate and timely payment.
- Prepare cashflow forecasts for Treasury operations
- Optimize financial processes and identify areas for improvement
Location & Other Key Details:
- You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
- This is an office-based role, hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
- Our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines, and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work.
