Production Tech 2 (DL) is an essential intermediate position within the Creation Technologies, tasked with handling moderately complex production technical process activities, advanced troubleshooting, and contributing to improvement projects. This role is a steppingstone for professionals looking to deepen their
manufacturing technical expertise, offering a blend of hands-on experience and involvement in improvement initiatives. Responsibilities include advanced troubleshooting down to the root cause level and identification of process improvement opportunities. This role supports technical activities under the guidance of the production team. This position demands a proactive approach, technical proficiency, and a commitment to continuous learning and teamwork.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but not limited to:
- Engages in the setup and operation of Intermediate level manufacturing equipment to existing specifications, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to safety standards.
- Handles intermediate level production tasks and issues as necessary, ensuring compliance with quality standards and that products meet process specifications and standards.
- Provides support in basic daily and weekly appraisal and rudimentary maintenance of equipment and tools necessary for the electronic manufacturing processes.
- Demonstrates a in-depth knowledge of electronics processes and assembly, with an ability to interpret technical documentation effectively.
- Executes new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensures compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Tackles complex technical problems, independently, proposing feasible solutions and effectively communicate them to appropriate stakeholders.
- Collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams, sharing insights and contributing to decision-making.
- Executes and supports the integration of new technologies and systems, provides feedback, enhancing efficiency and product performance. Ensures accurate records and adherence to protocols.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by providing feedback on existing processes and implements and optimizes production processes, ensuring operational efficiency and adherence to best practices.
- Conducts intermediate level troubleshooting and problem-solving, providing expert-level technical support to the manufacturing team.
- Leads projects or sub-projects under the broader scope of manufacturing programs, coordinating with engineering teams to ensure on time delivery.
- Provides technical support and guidance to junior technicians, enhancing team skills and productivity.
Test Tech specific
- Performs intermediate-level assembly and testing tasks on the production floor.
- Performs test equipment setup, verification, and troubleshooting, ensuring repeatable outputs and reliability.
- Engages in the daily maintenance of test equipment. Participates in the identification of improvement opportunities to ensure product manufacturability in alignment with product specifications.
- Identifies opportunities to refine testing protocols, ensuring comprehensive coverage and reliable test results.
- Assists the test engineering team with the implementation of test strategies in production, ensuring alignment with product specifications and customer requirements.
- Contributes to the intermediate-level troubleshooting of test equipment, enhancing the precision and reliability of test results.
- Participates in the intermediate-level analysis of test data, identifying patterns and making recommendations for process improvements.
- Collaborates with engineering on the enhancement of test documentation, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and compliance with standards.
- Mentors’ junior technicians in intermediate testing techniques, fostering a skilled and knowledgeable testing team.
- Analyze electronic and electromechanical assemblies to determine cause of product defect to include part identification diagnosis and replacement of defective components to bring product into specification.
- Provides intermediate training and support to other technicians in the use of test equipment and execution of test procedures.
- Resolve intermediate level debug escalations to root cause.
- Read wiring diagrams, and engineering instructions for assembling electronics units, applying knowledge of electronic theory and components.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Required Experience
- High School Degree, GED or military training experience. With a focus on vocational skills preferred
- Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or technical environment.
Skills Required
- Advanced understanding of electronics manufacturing and troubleshooting.
- Knowledgeable about IPC 610 Standard and/or J-STD-001.
- Proficiency in interpreting technical documents and specifications. - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective oral and written English communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team, managing multiple tasks efficiently.
- Leadership qualities and the ability to mentor junior technicians or interns.
- Effective understanding of Lean principles, six sigma and industrial ergonomics preferred.
- Familiar with PLM, MES, and CMMS systems.

- You need to be legally eligible to work full-time in British Columbia, Canada for any employer
- Offer of employment contingent on successful background check
- Shift: Day (Monday to Friday, 7AM-3:30PM)
- Base Pay: The anticipated pay range for this position is CDN $23.00–$29.00 per hour. The final offer will depend on factors including experience, education, etc.
