About the role
Paints general metal products according to specifications provided by the plant supervisor. Operates equipment in accordance with proper operation and safety procedures.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Utilizes drying oils paint, resinous and solvent drying paints
- Select appropriate paint or mix paints
- Verifies and prepares the surface of components with abrasive disc wheel or masking
- Tend or operate equipment to prepare items for application of protective or decorative coatings
- Paints Items as required using airless sprayer, roller, pressure pot...etc
- Responsible for the loading and un-loading of the paint booth, using the overhead crane, marking of finished product and mixing of paints
- Reports non-conformance to the plant supervisor
- Performs other duties as may be assigned by the plant supervisor, including keeping the work area clean and tidy
- Assists with inventory of raw materials, reports findings to the plant supervisor
- Performs routine daily and monthly paint equipment and inspection
- Completes all required in process inspection sheets
- Reports all non-conformances to QC.
- Other duties as required
Position Requirements
- NACE certification an asset
- Minimum 3 years? experience painting in a component manufacturing industry
- Experience with hand-held spray guns and airless gravity pump
- Overhead crane experience
- Hold a valid driver?s licence
- Physical demands require the ability to handle weights up to 25 kg (55 pounds)
