What You Will Be Doing
- Support the implementation of the Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP).
- Track compliance with applicable best management practices, Permit conditions, Environmental Work Plans, Environmental Management Plans, and site-specific plans.
- Coordinate environmental design and construction input between various disciplines.
- Assist the project team in developing Environmental Work Plans and Environmental Standard Operating Procedures.
- Prepare and review reporting associated with environmental compliance (e.g., Weekly Environmental Reports, Monthly Environmental Reports, Environmental Incident Reports, etc.).
- Support the development and implementation of an environmental training and awareness program.
- Manage data collection, storage and analysis.
- Assist with environmental incident investigations in accordance with incident reporting procedures.
- Support with field work, including environmental monitoring, and data collection.
- Coordinate environmental specialists in performing their work, including scheduling and tracking of deliverables.
- Liaise on a day-to-day basis with project supervisors and others.
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years’ experience in construction projects of similar size/scope.
- Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP) designation is required.
- Knowledge of Provincial and Federal environmental regulations (e.g., Fisheries Act, Water Sustainability Act, Environmental Assessment Act, etc.).
- Past experience in environmental monitoring.
- Effective communication, data organization and technical reporting skills.
- Ability to work outside in various weather and terrain conditions.
- Proficiency with computer programs for managing and communicating environmental data.
- Valid BC driver’s license
