AI Platform Engineer (GenAI) — 12 Month Contract
Montreal, QC | Hybrid (3 days onsite) | $82.61/hr CAD | Incorporated A leading global investment bank is building a firmwide AI development and evaluation platform, and is hiring a senior AI Platform Engineer to help lead the effort. You'll be working within a well established technology division on enterprise scale GenAI benchmarking, assurance and governance.
What you'll be doing
Designing and building a firmwide GenAI development and evaluation platform Developing self service tooling, SDKs and APIs so teams can build, evaluate and deploy GenAI applications safely Building reusable platform components for GenAI and agentic systems: orchestration, evaluation pipelines, model lifecycle workflows Leading container native GenAI workloads on Kubernetes / OpenShift with GitOps deployment patterns Integrating LLMs, vector databases, embeddings and agent frameworks Driving architecture decisions across security, authentication, observability, scalability and reliability Setting platform best practice for GenAI evaluation, agentic systems and LLMOps / ModelOps Partnering with engineering, data science, security and product teams
What we're looking for
6+ years hands on software engineering, ideally Python (FastAPI, Flask), building large scale cloud native platforms Deep Kubernetes / OpenShift experience with Helm, Kustomize, container registries and GitOps Hands on GenAI / LLM application build experience: agentic orchestration, embeddings, evaluation workflows, fine tuning Strong microservices, RESTful API design, async and concurrent programming Data engineering foundations: SQL/NoSQL, Kafka, Redis, vector databases, state management at scale DevOps, CI/CD and observability (OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana) with an SRE mindset Security first design, OAuth2 and enterprise grade platform controls

Agent based frameworks or orchestration systems LLMOps / ModelOps / evaluation platforms Internal developer platform experience
Contract details
12 month incorporated contract, with potential for a second year extension or conversion to permanent 40 hours per week Montreal based, 3 days per week onsite $82.61/hr CAD
