About the Opportunity:

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for providing client focused full lifecycle recruitment support and advice that is in line with organizational policies, procedures and legislative requirements. The Talent Acquisition Specialist is to help identify the talent needs of the organization and to source, identify, screen, and hire candidates for various roles in the organization. The functions at KidsAbility include but are not limited to coaching, advising, sourcing, recruitment, selection and onboarding activities while working with the hiring Supervisors, Finance team, and other staff members, volunteers and students. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will support the Human Resources (HR) department and assist in implementing and maintaining effective HR programs and practices. Supporting the mission, vision, and values, and human resources mandate, promoting a positive relation to the KidsAbility Strategic Plan.

Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to:

  • Conducts intake meetings with hiring managers to ensure a thorough understanding of job responsibilities, detailing position needs, clarifying stakeholder expectations and department requirements, establishing timelines
  • Manage the full – cycle recruitment process
  • Source applicants through online channels, in collaboration with Hiring Managers
  • Organize and attend job fairs and recruitment events to build a strong candidate pipeline
  • Develops and maintains a pipe to support workforce planning initiatives
  • Assist in creating and revising job descriptions and interview questions that reflect the requirements for each position
  • Manages the recruitment process including documenting and tracking all pertinent information using an Applicant Tracking System (ATS). Responsible for the data integrity
  • Identify candidates with the skills, experience and knowledge in relation to position requirements while upholding policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Conduct screening, interviewing, and referencing of candidates
  • Participates and supports the onboarding and the integration of the new employees
  • Develops and runs recruitment reports to monitor and be proactive in trends
  • Ensures adherence to provisions of the appropriate Collective Agreements, policies and procedures, and applicable legislation
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications including SharePoint and Teams, and familiarity with HR software and HRIS systems
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle with public liability and property damage coverage

In addition to the above qualifications, the following skills and experience will be strong assets:

  • CHRP designation, or working towards CHRP designation
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in Human Resources Management or similar field
  • Knowledge of applicant tracking systems
  • Two or three years of experience in a talent acquisition or similar role
  • Experience in full-cycle recruiting, using various interview techniques and evaluation methods
