Position Summary
The HRIS Business Analyst is part of the Employee Services team and provides expertise in managing the organization’s human resources information systems. The Calgary Stampede’s people system supports employee data, payroll, and time off. This role is responsible for system maintenance, process improvements, data quality, and HRIS reporting and analysis. The Analyst gathers and analyzes data, enhances HRIS performance across the organization, and recommends improvements to performance metrics. The role supports organizational decision-making by turning HRIS data into clear, meaningful insights for leaders and the Employee Services team.
Responsibilities
- Lead the configuration, enhancement, testing, and ongoing support of HRIS platforms, ensuring systems remain secure, accurate, and aligned with business needs.
- Serve as the primary subject matter expert for HR systems (including UKG and XACT), providing system administration, user support, and technical guidance.
- Partner with HR, Payroll, Finance, IT, and business leaders to translate business requirements into effective system solutions and process improvements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by optimizing HR and payroll processes, implementing system upgrades, and integrating new modules or point solutions.
- Ensure data integrity, security, reporting accuracy, and appropriate end‑user access across all HR platforms.
- Develop and deliver training, documentation, and support to enable effective system adoption and usage.
- Produce and maintain HR metrics, dashboards, and reports to support data‑driven decision‑making.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to troubleshoot issues, support system maintenance, and ensure operational stability.
- Stay current with HRIS trends and emerging technologies to recommend enhancements and improvements.
Qualifications
- Post-Secondary Diploma or Associate Degree in IT, Business Administration, or related field.
- Strong knowledge in HRIS applications.
- Advanced MS Excel skills and experience in all MS Office applications.
- Understanding UKG is considered an asset.
- Minimum 5 years experience required working in an IT environment with a focus on HRIS.
- Experience developing reports and responding to ad hoc queries.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
