About the role

We're Hiring: Occupational Therapist (Contracted or Employee Part-Time – 16.5 Hours/Week)

Location: South Surrey Long Term Care and Convalescent Care
Department: Rehabilitation
Reports To: Site Leader or Designate

Park Place Seniors Living is seeking a compassionate and skilled Occupational Therapist to join our interdisciplinary team in supporting both convalescent care and long-term care Residents. This part-time role offers 16.5 hours per week and is ideal for professionals passionate about enhancing quality of life through individualized care.

About the Role

As an Occupational Therapist, you will:

  • Implement goal-based programs to help Residents regain or maintain independence.
  • Prevent deformities and reduce pain through therapeutic interventions.
  • Recommend and coordinate adaptive equipment and restorative programs.
  • Collaborate with physiotherapists and other care team members to support holistic care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct and document initial assessments (e.g., Falls and Transfer Assessments).
  • Develop and revise individualized care plans based on Resident needs.
  • Attend interdisciplinary care conferences and leadership meetings.
  • Maintain therapeutic relationships and ensure safe working environments.
  • Lead in-service education sessions and maintain clinical competence.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an approved school of occupational therapy.
  • Minimum 2 years of recent experience, preferably in elder care.
  • Current practicing registration with the applicable provincial body.
