About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting & Administrative Assistant with a strong focus on Accounts Receivable (AR) to support our busy finance department. This in-office position will play a key role in managing day-to-day accounting functions, providing administrative support, and being the first point of contact for visitors to our office.
This role is ideal for a candidate with 2+ years of solid accounting experience who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle all Accounts Receivable processes including posting deposits/payments, and reconciliations
- Generate and send regular AR reports; follow up on overdue balances as needed
- Reconcile bank accounts and customer accounts
- Assist with customer account setup
- Process payroll and maintain related records
- Support month-end and year-end processes, including reconciliations and financial reporting
- Assist in preparation of financial statements and cash flow reports
- Respond to incoming inquiries via phone/email and greet office visitors
- Manage front-of-house duties: office supply ordering, mail, and coffee/office
- Complete and organize outgoing/incoming correspondence
- Support internal documentation for project-related accounting or financial needs
- Collaborate with the Finance Director on ad hoc tasks and initiatives
- Cross-train and assist other departments as required
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in AR, general accounting, or finance administration
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with payroll processing and payroll legislation
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a remote and local team
- Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with Odoo or Monday.com is an asset, but not required
- Must have reliable transportation to commute to our Abbotsford office

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $25–$29/hour
