Role Description The Associate Financial Advisor is a full-time, on-site role based in Ajax, ON. This position supports clients by assessing their financial needs, explaining insurance and wealth solutions, and helping them develop tailored plans for protection and long-term growth. Day-to-day responsibilities include meeting with clients, preparing financial summaries and recommendations, reviewing portfolios, and supporting retirement and investment planning strategies in alignment with Co-operators’ offerings. The role also involves maintaining accurate client records, ensuring compliance with regulatory and company standards, and collaborating with senior advisors and team members to deliver a consistent and high-quality client experience. The Associate Financial Advisor may also participate in community outreach and client acquisition activities to grow the local client base. Qualifications Strong foundation in Financial Planning and Financial Advisory to support clients in developing comprehensive financial strategies. Knowledge of Finance and Investments to analyze products, assess risk, and recommend suitable solutions aligned with client objectives. Experience or training in Retirement Planning to help clients build sustainable, long-term income and protection plans. Relevant post-secondary education in finance, business, economics, or a related field; professional designations (e.g., CFP, PFP, or progress toward such certifications) are an asset. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and client service skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear, accessible manner. Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and commitment to regulatory compliance. Comfort working with financial software, CRM tools, and Microsoft Office; willingness to learn Co-operators’ systems and processes. Ability to work on-site in Ajax, ON, collaborate with a local advisor team, and contribute to community-focused initiatives.
