Logistics Carrier Specialist - Transportation Management

Schedule: FT Job Type: Hybrid Salary Type: Salary Req #: 1823 About The Role Uber Freight is looking for experienced customer service professionals with a background in the Transportation, Supply Chain or Logistics field. Our specialists will lead transportation functions to ensure accurate, work directly with specific accounts/customers by managing carrier performance, supporting operational excellence, cost savings, and procuring carrier capacity. This position is based at our Oakville, ON office. Standard department hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
What The Candidate Will Do
- Use the Transportation Management System (TMS) to its fullest potential in order to facilitate the life cycle of an order
- Account/Operations support – provide assistance to Uber Freight Operations to assist with regular KPI review, carrier performance management, and proactive analytical support to help identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities
- Manage, develop, coordinate, and optimize carrier relationships. Classify carriers by role (strategic, core, etc.) and invest time as appropriate
- Develop and strengthen strategic relationships with key carriers by leading engagement initiatives across all levels, facilitating execution-focused meetings between carrier Sales/Ops teams and Uber Freight account teams.
- Analyze customer data, including bid and spot freight activity, to identify sourcing needs and promote cost-effective solutions that deliver measurable value to the customer.
- Provide end-to-end strategy and execution support for Uber Freight-facilitated transportation procurement events (RFPs and mini-bids), including recommending new carriers based on data analysis and insights into the shipper’s network and broader transportation market.
- Evaluate carrier performance and compliance across key metrics—including tender acceptance, on-time service, shipment visibility, and adherence to bid commitments—by analyzing actual results against bid responses and identifying costs outside of contracted rates at weekly, monthly, and quarterly intervals.
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 1-2 years of related experience in Transportation/Logistics/Supply Chain
- Canada over the road transportation experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Transportation Logistics or Supply Chain Management
- Knowledge of Federal Regulations (Including DOT, FMCSA, CSA, HOS, etc.)
- Possess deep knowledge of major transportation modes—including Truckload, LTL, Intermodal, Rail, Dedicated, and Private Fleets—with hands-on experience analyzing and managing Truckload operations at a shipper, carrier, or 3PL.
- Reporting and Analytics (Ability to run BI reports; validate information; understand reports, offer feedback and deliver insights to your manager and or customer contacts on the information contained within the report)
- Knowledge of Microsoft and/or Google Tools
