Job Summary And Requirements This competition is to fill permanent full-time position, working 75 hours biweekly. Join the team at the Department of Education with the Yukon government! As the Lead, Financial Operations, you will oversee and mange financial operations, ensuring that accounting transactions, budgeting, and reporting are carried out accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with legislation, policies, and best practices. You’ll play a critical role in guiding financial planning, developing processes, and advising management on key financial decisions.

Essential Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in accounting, business administration, or related discipline.
  • Considerable experience leading financial operations, including process development, and provision of training, guidance, and support.
  • Considerable experience completing financial functions; reporting, analysis, budgeting, tracking expenditures and commitments, procurement, completing year-end reports and/or reconciling accounts.
  • Considerable experience applying legislation and/or policies and procedures to make decisions and provide advice and recommendations.
  • Considerable experience using financial systems and Microsoft applications such as Excel.
