Job Description:
- Assist Mechanics: trouble shooting equipment and perform equipment repairs
- Installs parts as requested by shop foreman, service writer, service manager under supervision of a Journeyperson
- Repair machines and perform a variety of service oriented functions
- Notifies parts personnel required to make repairs or perform servicing
- Notifies shop personnel and service writer on damaged or missing equipment immediately, noting customer damages
- Responsible for general housekeeping duties in the shop and yard
- Follows instructions from journeypersons as to procedures & repair methods
- Follow all safe work & shop policies while performing work in ship & yard
- Completes paperwork properly for branch service writer, receives & keeps track of given work orders for equipment being repaired
- Ensures work orders are given to parts when parts are ordered
- Various related duties as required
Qualifications:
- Willing to continue work towards Interprovincial Heavy Duty Mechanic certification
- Safety conscious team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a high attention to detail
- Previous experience with heavy duty equipment would be considered an asset
Important Details:
- Hourly rate: $31.29 – 39.04 / hr
- This position is located at our Estevan branch on a 5x2 shift
- A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator
