About the Opportunity:

The Marketing & Communications team within KidsAbility is hiring a talented and motivated Website Development, Analytics & Digital Media Assistant who will assist with website management and development, analytics, quality assurance, and user acceptance testing. This is a detail-oriented communications and design role that involves assessing and updating live online content and the overall website architecture of our KidsAbility and Rocket Discovery Centre websites, and internal intranet (SharePoint). Decisions will be aligned with the analysis of website traffic, behavior flow, and other key metrics. You will be part of a cross-functional team working through a highly systematic process that will require keen attention to detail and the ability to make communication recommendations to ensure we are addressing the informational needs of our website audiences. The successful candidate will also help to develop and execute strategic digital communication initiatives and events. This position reports to KidsAbility’s Director of Marketing & Communications and will collaborate with all members of the Marketing and Communications team and other employees.

The Website Development, Analytics & Digital Media Assistant’s specific areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:

  • Website Development:
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and maintain external and internal websites.
  • Implement front-end and back-end web development tasks, ensuring a seamless and user-friendly online experience.
  • Contribute to website enhancements, updates, and troubleshooting, including design updates taking into consideration KidsAbility’s branding guidelines and AODA accessibility guidelines.
  • Analytics:
  • Analyze data related to audience engagement, marketing campaigns, websites, social media, and email campaigns.
  • Extract meaningful insights from data to inform decision-making processes.
  • Assist in the creation of data visualizations and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Event Support:
  • Provide support in the planning and execution of events, both virtual and in-person.
  • Collaborate with the MarComm team to ensure a smooth registration process, data tracking, and post-event analysis.
  • Assist in developing event-related web content and promotional materials.
  • Technical Support:
  • Offer technical support to end-users for website-related inquiries and issues.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to address technical challenges and implement solutions.
  • Ensure the integration of data analytics tools and technologies into the website for optimal performance.
  • Other duties
  • Prepare ongoing analytics reports working within shared dashboards and project management tools
  • Weekly reporting on progress, shared with various project teams and project managers
  • Create digital assets (graphics) and prepare content for website and social media requests.
  • Photo and video editing support
  • As needed, review, edit, upload, tag, and transcribe videos for Instagram reels and YouTube videos
  • Support events (in-person and virtual)
  • May be asked to support and participate in video and photo shoots.

More About You:

  • Knowledge of website content management systems/basic HTML (Wordpress experience an asset)
  • Basic understanding of web development concepts, HTML, CSS, and content management systems.
  • A good knowledge of best practices for website flow and basic UX/UI design of websites.
  • Understanding of analytics, data analysis, and creating tracking systems/dashboards
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel and third-party software such as Google Analytics and Hootsuite to track analytics
  • Proficiency using Microsoft software (especially Office 365, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), and CRM databases
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy while working with large volumes of content.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate and work as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated and able to manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.
  • Experience with website quality assurance and user acceptance testing.
  • Valid Ontario Driver’s License, and availability of a motor vehicle required.

In addition to the above qualifications, the following skills and experience will be strong assets:

  • Ability to create graphics in Canva for web/social
  • Familiarity with business and marketing strategy
  • Knowledge of Adobe programs such as InDesign and Photoshop
