Who you are
You should be an exceptional communicator with the ability to provide expert financial advice to leaders within the organization so they can make informed, strategic and responsible business decisions. You must be adept at critically questioning and validating information to ensure accuracy and integrity in a deadline-driven environment. You have attention to both content and format details and are able to reliably follow-through to deliver high quality products and outcomes. You collaborate easily with colleagues at all levels within the organization and can connect strategic objectives to detailed financial plans.
With experience in financial management leadership roles in mid to large sized organizations, you balance strong attention to detail with the ability to see the big picture.
What you’ll get to do
The Manager, Budgeting and Reporting leads and develops the multi-year financial plan and tax levy funding strategy to support operational and project initiatives in alignment with the organization’s core mandate and strategic plan. It also leads the delivery of regulatory reporting for budgeting and forecasting to the Board of Directors and Province of British Columbia.
Reporting to the Director, Financial Planning and Business Support, this role provides leadership, expertise, service excellence and innovation to advance the organization’s strategic priorities. The role manages and analyzes financial data in order to generate projections to support informed decision-making.
Other responsibilities include:
- Managing the budgeting and forecasting modules in the Enterprise Resource Management (ERP) system, including project development, optimization and sustainment.
- Providing analysis and interpretation of a variety of information, identifying risks and uncertainties, and making financial related recommendations as required.
- Drafting presentations, briefing notes and business cases that allow for effective evaluation, decision-making and prioritization for Senior Leadership and Executive.
- Meeting financial reporting requirements in accordance with various acts, which includes operating and capital plan updates to Government.
- Ensuring the organization’s financial objectives are achieved in a manner that complies with legislated frameworks, general accounting principles and sound internal controls.
- Leading, managing and engaging the work of employees and contractors including hiring, orientation, training and development and performance management.
This position is excluded from the bargaining unit.

- Compensation: $119,295 - $134,000

The salary range provided is based on our current Management salary structure. The successful candidate's placement will consider qualifications, experience, market norms, and internal equity.

What you bring to the team
Education
- A university degree in business, finance, management.
- A CPA accounting designation and current membership in good standing with the CPA association.
Experience
Seven (7) years experience including:
- Financial management leadership roles in mid- to large-sized organizations;
- Budget development, financial planning, modelling and analysis;
- Financial systems implementation or enhancements;
- Working in a results-oriented and deadline-driven environment;
- Building and managing relationships with partners; and
- Preparing written information and presenting to various audiences.
Note: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
