About the role

TRU is seeking one or two sessionals to teach EDIT 4150 - Information Technology Across the Curriculum.

Section 1: July 28 to August 6, M,T,W,R,F 8:30 a.m. to 1:20 p.m.

Section 2: July 28 to August 6, M,T,W,R,F 1:30 p.m. to 6:20 p.m.

Calendar Description

This course provides teachers with information about how to use 21st century technology across the curriculum. The skillful integration of 21st century technologies can enable more equitable learning opportunities for all. Digital technologies, access to information, globalization, and equity are changing the world. Participants learn how to critically evaluate the pedagogical benefits of various educational technology tools in the classroom setting.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor of Education is required
  • A Master of Education is required
  • Recent successful experience as a K-12 teacher strongly preferred and three years successful full time classroom experience is required
  • Advanced knowledge of the subject area is required
  • Experience and excellent understanding of child development and how this relates to elementary or secondary schools is required
  • Previous successful post-secondary school teaching experience is preferred
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills is required
  • Proven skills in building intercultural understanding, empathy and mutual respect are required
  • Demonstrated experience in integrating Aboriginal knowledge and teaching methods (TRC CA 62) is required
  • Proven skills in building student capacity for intercultural understanding, empathy, and mutual respect (TRC CA 63) is required
  • Teaching excellence, including developing culturally appropriate curricula (TRC CA10), is required
