Salary Range: $38.80 - $39.19 /hour
An exciting opportunity exists for a Registered Practical Nurse to provide services within the Colposcopy clinic at St. Joseph's Hospital as a valued member of a collaborative, interprofessional team. This specialized area of ambulatory care provides evaluation and treatment services for women with abnormal cervical screening results. The RPN will provide best patient care before, during and after each patient's colposcopy exam with responsibilities that include assisting with laboratory data entry and cytology/pathology specimen collection and labeling. The Colposcopy clinic is a fast-paced environment that requires the RPN to be able to prioritize tasks and patients appropriately, demonstrate an eagerness and commitment to learning new skills and display effective communication and collaborative skills within an interprofessional team to achieve results.
Essential Qualifications
- Valid registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Valid CPR certificate
- Successful completion of a nursing competency test
- Experience and knowledge of conditions, pathology and nursing care needs of Women's Health
- Proficiency and experience in pharmacology and medication administration
- Knowledge of safety culture in a health care setting in compliance with the OHSA
- Demonstrate ability to work to full scope of practice
- Ability to establish positive interpersonal relationships and work effectively in a team environment
- Demonstrate excellent decision making, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in French is considered an asset
- Recent experience working in an ambulatory clinic setting
- Recent experience working in Women's Health

Immunization Requirements
- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox) and Hepatitis B
