CASUAL PART TIME DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING CLERK

Position available immediately

Must have availability for vacation relief and short notice /sick calls

Rate of Pay: $27.154 – $30.338

Reason for Posting: Existing Position

Job Duties:

Scheduled to work M-F, 7.5 or 4 hour shifts
Clerical position will rotate through CT and DI departments
Managing a workload effectively in a fast-paced environment
Facilitate the triaging of DI requisitions, liaise with referring services to gather additional or missing clinical information, verify patient information to ensure accuracy
Perform a variety of complex bookings, clerical and receptionist duties, such as receiving and processing outpatient requisitions for procedures from physicians’ offices, entering patient information into the Radiology Information System, (RIS), checking in patients for scheduled appointments
Greet and coordinate the daily flow of patients including IP/OP/ED and AMB care
Book follow-up appointments accurately and professionally in all modalities
Exercising sound professional judgment, using best practice guidelines
Contribute to a safe, inclusive environment for all through compliance with patient and staff safety policies and procedures
Address and resolve minor issues in a productive, respectful manner
Collaborate with Senior technologists to mentor new staff

Job Qualifications:

Must provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella and varicella (chicken pox) and proof of 2 COVID-19 vaccinations
Must provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing within the previous 12 months
Medical Office Assistant Diploma from a recognized college (relevant experience may be considered)
Relevant booking experience in Diagnostic Imaging /CT preferred
Knowledge of medical terminology
Proven ability to work under pressure, exercise independent judgement and organize patient flow through the department
Demonstrates the ability to recognize the importance of accuracy, confidentiality, and efficiency
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to assess requests and prioritize them to ensure prompt patient care
Experience with Cerner Radnet, AGFA PACS and WTIS is an asset
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Proven competency with Microsoft Office programs (Word and Excel)
Evidence of ongoing professional development and self-directed learning
Proven excellence in attendance and punctuality
Understanding and demonstrate use of good body mechanics
