We are looking for an experienced Project Controller to join our team and play a key role in managing our project portfolio. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with Project Managers and leadership to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and with accurate financial control.

What You’ll Do:

  • Support administration and oversight of the Project Control Program in partnership with the Capital Portfolio Manager.
  • Manage forecasting requirements across the project portfolio, collaborating closely with Project Managers to achieve accuracy and reliability.
  • Meet or exceed monthly and annual forecasting accuracy targets to ensure strong financial performance.
  • Assist Project Managers in the development, planning, and execution of capital projects using Planisware software.
  • Monitor, track, and control project costs while ensuring compliance with budget guidelines.
  • Develop clear, insightful reports detailing portfolio progress for management and stakeholders.
  • Lead and facilitate meetings, presentations, and updates across all levels of management.
  • Support change order and contingency management, proactively addressing variances.
  • Actively manage annual portfolio cashflow for both single-year and multi-year budgets.
  • Troubleshoot financial topics across various systems and software platforms.
  • Continuously improve portfolio management processes, reporting, and systems.
  • Manage project accruals, cost reconciliation, and closeout activities.
  • Escalate issues, risks, and concerns to appropriate management in a timely manner.
  • Engage effectively with project stakeholders, providing consistent and transparent progress updates.

Work Schedule:

  • 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM, 9/80 schedule:

  • Week 1: Monday to Friday, 9-hour days (45 hours)

  • Week 2: Monday to Wednesday, 9-hour days; Thursday, 8 hours (35 hours)

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience specifically in Project Controller roles, managing multiple projects and budgets.
  • Proven expertise in project controls, cost management, and portfolio reporting.
  • Strong proficiency in Planisware or other project management software.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills, capable of presenting complex data to all levels of management.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Experience in capital projects, ideally within mining, industrial, or heavy construction environments, is an asset.
