Job Description Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for uncovering insights that shape business strategy? We are seeking a Competitive Intelligence Analyst to join the Corporate Strategic Business Intelligence Team. This unique opportunity may be the right fit for you!
Reporting to the Strategic Business Intelligence Lead (SBI), the Competitive Intelligence Analyst will have superior critical thinking, analytical and business writing skills to support the SBI function across the J.D. Irving, Moncton Group of Companies.
In this role you will be involved in daily market and competitive monitoring, and project work. Responsibilities will include gathering, analyzing, and interpreting competitive and market data to provide valuable insights that inform strategic decision-making . You will play a key role in identifying opportunities, assessing risks, and staying ahead of industry trends to maintain a competitive edge.
Responsibilities

Competitive Landscape analysis, monitoring and benchmarking

Collect, curate, and distribute strategic business intelligence (SBI) through internal cloud-based intelligence portal
-
Prepare and present SBI projects including:
-
Domestic and international marketplace analysis
-
Macro-economic and industry trends overviews
-
Competitive benchmarking
-
Special research and analysis projects (strategy and competitive intelligence)
-
Provide support to the strategic planning process
-
Learning, sharing, and leveraging best practice within, across and between businesses
-
Finding a better way, every day
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education
- Robust understanding of business, financial and economic concepts
- 0-3 years of experience in a business-related role
- Strong analytical mindset, with ability to think critically and creatively.
- Highly proficient in English language business writing with superior ability to extrapolate key information and effectively summarize content
- Driven to produce high quality work for internal customers
- Self-motivated; works well individually, able to prioritize day-to-day tasks
- A propensity towards learning new concepts, developing skills, and implementing change
- Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to conduct formal meetings and presentations
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word (knowledge of Power BI considered an asset)
- Experience creating and delivering effective PowerPoint presentations
- Time management and organizational skills, with very high attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to influence and inform decision-making
